The planning is the fundamental phases.

Planning phase is answer following questions.
Why an information system should be built?
How the project team will going to building it?

during project installation
How will new system lower costs of company or increase  company revenue?
Ideas for  new systems is called a system request.
A system request presents a brief summary of  a business need.
Explain how a new system supports the business need.
The IS department works with project.
Sponsor to conduct of feasibility analysis.

Feasibility study

A feasibility study is very quick and cheep.
It is an estimate
find user needs / proposed system satisfied current software and hardware technologies
The study considers weather the proposed system will be cost effective from a business point of view and checked within budget.
The result should inform the decision of weather or not to go a head with a more detailed analysis.

The feasibility analysis / study


  1. The technical feasibility(Can we build it)
  2. The economic feasibility(Will it provide business value)
  3. The organizational feasibility(If we build it,will it be used?)

 Technical feasibility study

     The technical feasibility focuses on weather the system can be build.
     This study examining the risks linked with the users and analysts
        a)Familiarity with the application
        b)Familiarity with the technology
        c)Project size
        d)Compatibility with existing system

Economic feasibility

     The economic feasibility address weather the system should be build.
     It include a cost benefit analyse
       a)Development cost
       b)Operational cost
       c)Tangible cost
       d)Intangible cost and benefit

Organizational feasibility

    It is access how well the system will be accepted by its users and in corporated in to the operation      of the organization.


Information system approval committees

  The system request and the feasibility analysis are presented to an information system approval committee with decide weather the project should be under taken or not taken.
 
  After the projects is approve, it is hand over to project management department.

  1)Work plan
  2)Staff planing
  3)Standard list and risk assessment

Project plan

The deliverable for the project management is a project plan

The project plan describes how the project team will go about developing the system.
